I took a long hiatus from LJ and one from crochet, too. Here's about a third of what I've accomplished over the past year. It's hard to keep up when you're tear-assing after an almost four year old and an 18 month old!

owl, cat, aliens... )

The owl I did for a daughter of a friend. I made her other daughter a panda and a monkey for her son but this one was my favorite. The kitty I did for my niece's birthday last year and the little teacup aliens were just for fun.

And even more photos in the gallery. =)

oh! I did a llama and a cow, too, for this Christmas. I will have to find those photos and make another post.

Chicago!

I made this to honor my oldest dog , Chicago. I brushed and painted the yarn to look like her!  I whipped this up in a day.

Poseable, standable and just too cute!

TMNT Donatello

I made my husband a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle for Christmas. It's Donatello which is his favorite. It was really hard to get it finished without him seeing it, but he really liked it.

Hello people!

Merry Christmas to those who's celebrating it these days And I just wanted to share some pain with you, muahahaha

I've been making lots of toys as New Year presents & in the end I've started coughing. I haven't got any cold or infection, nothing hurts & the throat is fine, so I'm guessing this coughing is from tiny particles of yarn & fiberfill I've inhaled. Doesn't bother me much, but still it is unpleasant. Lol, I feel almost like a cat: gonna spit out balls of hair soon.

So if you're making something big or something small but in big quantity, consider wearing a mask. I know it sounds ridiculous: wearing a mask while making toys, but coughing isn't fun at all.

Anyway, wish you all good & healthy New Year & no "productional injuries" at all!

Pretty birdie!

Just showing off, I made this last night while my boyfriend was being very very ill. I had to stay up to look after him anyway so i thought i might as well do something constructive. I used a pattern i found on the net but adapted the tail part. hope you all like.

I started crocheting about two weeks ago now, and finished my first amigurumi yesterday... Yoda from star wars, a gift to the boyfriend for christmas. :)

I also have a question. When making amigurumi, how do you crochet the head and body to be the same part, rather than creating each piece seperately and then stitching them together? I tried doing decreases and increases without a pattern, but it didn't work out so well!

safety eyes

i have 6mm eyes i was trying to attach to an ami with a long pointy face...  and i can't get the plastic backs to go on them.  any suggestions?  i'm also wondering if the size and shape of the project is what's making it so difficult.  thanks.

New Leg Design!!

So, I've decided to give my old Kero design an updated look, since I now know a lot more about crocheting than when I originally made his design. I was messing around with the legs. Previously, they were just little nubs. Now, I'm trying to shape them like Kero's legs actually look. After much frogging, this is the final result. I'll post the finished Kero as soon as I'm done! ^_^ Pic + Pattern! )
